Not only has a brand new year begun, it has begun in a big way.
Home work is obviously an important part of our program. However, we are a holistic program that works on the body, mind, soul, and spirit of a child. Here is a glimpse at the first few weeks!
Our students are being cared for in a pretty special way. They have all the tools and resources they need to not only get great grades, but to become successful future leaders that go out and change families, communities, organizations, and the world. We will do everything short of sin to make sure that our students have what they need to succeed.
Our ministry, C2k Ministries Inc., stand for Cross To Kingdom. Not many people know what “C2k” stands for and we want you to know. We teach Christian, Bible-based, principles each month. This year our theme is “Living Out Your Faith.” Our students will learn about the following: Character, Courage, Relationships, Integrity, Positive Attitudes, Values, Humility, Generosity, and Purpose.
We are excited to partner with Delta State University this year. Their Science Department is committed to coming one week per month to teach our kids about science, chemistry, biology, and more. Our students will be doing experiments and learning why certain things react the way they do. A huge shout out to Dr. Theresa Gaines for taking the lead!
Money, Budgeting, and Investing
One of the staples of our program is our money system. Each day, our students receive three (3) RE>DIRECT dollars. If they perform well that day, they keep the dollars and at the end of the week deposit them into their bank account. We also give money for progress reports and report cards (A’s, B’s, and C’s only). Our students then get to spend those dollars in our store and two (2) times per year there is a rather large store.
This year we are doing all of that but we are also going to be teach about budgeting, tithing, saving, giving, and investing.
Money is not the root of all evil. The love of money is and God was clear about that in scripture.
We love to recognize our students. This is never done in a false way but it is done intentionally. We have a pin program in which our students earn pins based on displaying specific character traits. At the end of this year, one student, from each area with the most pins, will be receiving a large prize. Our leadership is looking to place pins on our students. Positivity is the name of the game.
As you can see, it has been a busy few weeks. Our staff is incredible as they continue to work hard with our students.
Please be praying for a successful year for all involved in RE>DIRECT and C2k Ministries Inc.
