The week before Thanksgiving, I had the chance to go and pick up one of “my boys'” Devin James. For those that have followed for the past years, Devin was a former student in our after-school program. He is currently at Rust College in Holly Springs, MS and doing very well.

Devin is a brother in the Omega Psi Phi fraternity at Rust College. Upon his return for his Christmas break, he wanted to volunteer at our program. Little did I know that mean’t that he would recruit his brothers from the Delta State Chapter to join with him.

For the past several weeks we have had 2-3 Omega Psi Phi brothers mentoring our kids. What a blessing they have been and even better they have committed to helping us next semester!

This past week they asked me if they could buy gifts for our kids and of course I said yes because we needed a few things for our store. So they went shopping and bought the things we needed. Again what a blessing for our kids and we are grateful for them and all they are doing!
